2027 Fall Crop Insurance Update

Important Deadlines

Sales closing date: September 30th, to make changes to your forage and wheat (if you are planting winter wheat) coverages.

Crop Insurance Updates

  • ECO and MCO - coverage levels have now been changed and cover the risk band between 90-95%. SCO’s coverage range now goes to 90%. If you would like to remove ECO coverage from your wheat contract, you must do so by 9/30.

  •   MCO (Margin Coverage Option) - takes the simplicity of ECO and combines it with the unique capability to insure against reduced margins by considering inputs. Sales closing for all crops is 9/30 with prices being set as of 9/15.  Please see us if you would like to lock in current prices for this program.

  • Revenue Protection is now available for forage production contracts. If interested, please contact me for details.

Wheat Growers 

Enterprise By Type is available for wheat.  This endorsement allows you to enterprise and to insure your Winter Wheat and Spring Wheat separately. If you are planting Winter Wheat, this endorsement must be added by September 30th.

 

Production and acreage reporting due date: November 15th

** Please bring in your wheat production ASAP so we can verify if there is a loss **

Forage Producers 

Enterprise Units is now available for forage production.  If you would like to enterprise your forage fields, this endorsement must be added by September 30th.

  • Forage – Alfalfa & Grass/Alfalfa (90-100)                                      $    175 ton
